The journey begins with the careful selection of sheep, goats, or camels whose wool will be used. The artisans practice ethical wool extraction, ensuring the animals are unharmed in the process. This approach results in wool that is not only of high quality but also healthier and stronger.
The cleaned wool is transformed into yarn through a series of painstaking manual steps. Artisans wash, card, brush, and spin the wool into threads by hand, preparing it for the intricate weaving process ahead.
A team of skilled weavers, often composed of up to five women, work together at the loom. They meticulously create the rug knot by knot, a process that can take several weeks. On average, a single rug may contain around 50,000 knots.

colors
Moroccan and berber tribes use naturally sourced spice, plant, and herb blends, such as henna, pomegranate, saffron and chamomile flowers and olive peels, to dye wool and make colorful rugs.
Berber symbols
Berber carpets feature an array of geometric patterns such as diamonds, zigzags, and rectangles, each imbued with distinct meanings. Generally, these designs symbolize aspects such as fertility, sexuality, survival and protection. Notably, the Chevron pattern, for instance, signifies openness associated with thighs.
Wool
Our rugs boast the exceptional quality of Atlas sheep wool, known for its thickness and premium texture. Our artisans ethically extract "live wool" during warmer seasons, prioritizing the well-being of the animals. This method ensure healthier and stronger wool.
